Changelog
Effective 13 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-14 · VIGIL GLM (vigilglm.ai) · ABN 51 317 709 329 · AustraliaWhat changed on VIGIL GLM, in public. Dated notes, not a marketing feed.
11 October 2026 · Safer sessions, Job Hunter saves, and a quieter outage
- Sign-in cookies that predate per-device revocation are upgraded on the next successful request, so Sign out ends that session instead of leaving it valid for the rest of the week. A second factor now binds to this authenticator enrolment, and a copied admin cookie cannot skip the code after you replace the app.
- Saving a job from search treats tracking-parameter copies of the same posting as one role, so the card stays Saved. Job Hunter writes return a short retry when capacity checks are down, instead of a generic failure.
- If chat or Studio cannot reach shared capacity, the site says so and asks you to try again shortly, rather than failing the turn. Packaged VIGIL-Code and VIGIL Desktop only talk to chat.vigilglm.ai, or a local smoke-test server.
10 October 2026 · Frontend design guidance, written by VIGIL
- The frontend design guide in the skills catalog is now VIGIL's own. It teaches Material UI as a chassis rather than a costume: deep createTheme customization, a typeface with real personality, full colour tone ladders, a chosen shape and elevation language, a styleOverrides pass over every component you use, and dark mode designed as a second palette instead of a luminance flip.
- The guide names the fingerprints that make AI-built MUI interfaces look templated — default Roboto, the stock blue, 4px radius everywhere, elevation shadows on every card — and replaces each with a decision made on purpose. It ends with a debugging section for the failures that actually happen, like a theme that silently renders defaults.
- It replaces the previously imported generic frontend design guide under the same discovery terms, in web chat and in VIGIL-Code 0.2.60.
- The Android app's drawer gets a solid dock surface with a hairline edge and the web brand palette, and the build is smaller (0.1.23, on the downloads page; the Play Store listing follows its own review).
9 October 2026 · Job Hunter finds jobs, and a new mark
- Job Hunter is live. Find jobs opens a guided setup, then one search across Google for Jobs, Adzuna, Jooble and employer feeds, with the sources chosen for your country, an AI fit ranking on every result, and Word downloads for the documents you prepare from them. Hunt settings sit in the top bar and hunt chats see your search profile.
- VIGIL has a new mark — the keystone — across the site, favicons, social cards and email, with new app icons in VIGIL-Code 0.2.59, VIGIL Desktop 0.2.16 and the Android app.
- Every installer on the downloads page now carries a published SHA-256 checksum beside it, and VIGIL-Code updates arrive over a signed feed the app verifies before installing.
- VIGIL-Code 0.2.58 settled chat into a calmer 15px/24px reading rhythm with a quieter shell. /start now has a question box that hands your question straight to guest chat, which offers three starter questions.
8 October 2026 · A bigger skills catalog and safer installs
- The Code Mode catalog grew to 59 guides. New arrivals include shadcn/ui, React Native patterns, React View Transitions, extracting a DESIGN.md design system from frontend source, self-contained static HTML snapshots, GitHub Actions security review, secret serialization, skill writing and scanning, agents.md instructions, canvas design, prompt engineering and AI model evaluation.
- VIGIL-Code 0.2.55 through 0.2.57 hardened the project tooling: git operations run through a host-side guard, undo and the updater fail safe rather than half-apply, and the downloads page names the exact version you are installing.
7 October 2026 · Join and upgrade from the phone
- The Android app can now create a free account directly — email, password, and you are in, with the same 1,000,000 monthly credits. A confirmation email arrives; chat reminds you with a resend option until it is confirmed.
- Light and Pro can be purchased in the app with Google Play Billing. Every purchase is verified against Google's own records before the plan changes, and opening the upgrade sheet re-checks renewals and cancellations.
- Play subscriptions can be cancelled in Google Play any time; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- The Android app now counts app opens with the same cookieless Umami measurement the website uses — no device ids, no chat content — with its own switch in Settings.
6 October 2026 · Analytics is Umami, and only what we said it was
- Platform analytics runs on Umami Cloud, which sets no cookies. It receives the page path and device type only — no URL queries, no referrers, and shared-conversation links are reduced to their page name so the link tokens never reach it.
- The vendor's own automatic pageview is now disabled on the website: the only measurement is the sanitized one described in the Privacy Policy. Guests are always measured; accounts can switch it off in Settings → Platform analytics.
- The Privacy Policy and Terms name Umami and describe exactly what it collects. Google Analytics, which this platform used until 4 October, is gone from the site and the policies.
30 September 2026 · More on the free plan, and the apps in our policies
- Web search, the isolated browser, meeting transcription, document parsing, slides and VIGIL Studio are now on every plan, Free included. Each one bills from your credit balance. Studio allows 3 runs an hour on Free and 10 on Light and Pro. Image generation, photo editing, Job Hunter and GLM-5.3 stay on paid plans.
- Android 0.1.9 has web search and browsing on every plan, spoken conversation, and search sources shown below the reply. Download it from vigilglm.ai/downloads. iOS is coming soon.
- The Privacy Policy, Terms and Usage Policy now cover the Android app, VIGIL Desktop and VIGIL-Code, and list the providers that handle your data. The homepage and documentation show the current plan details.
29 September 2026 · Clearer reading and editable code in prompts
- Google Sans Flex brings a consistent reading style to web chat, Android and the Linux apps, with 17px chat text, 24px line spacing and clearer bold emphasis.
- Start a line with three backticks or paste a fenced code block to get an editable code box. Enter adds a code line; Continue writing returns to normal text. Indentation, undo and dictated additions are preserved.
- Android 0.1.7, VIGIL desktop 0.2.10 and VIGIL-Code 0.2.38 include the new typography. Android Settings displays the version installed on the phone.
24 September 2026 · VIGIL-Code 0.2.28 and project context
- VIGIL-Code 0.2.28 adds Build mode: edits and local commands run inside a project sandbox without a prompt, while network use, git push and anything outside the folder still ask once. Ask approval and Full Access are unchanged. The flagship VIGIL app is at 0.2.8.
- Project persona, memories, branding and file text are loaded on the server for every project chat, so a browser cannot alter what the model is told about your project.
- Reply language now has a Style setting for Philippine languages (formal or conversational), remembered across chats. Documents stay formal and Scripture stays in English.
23 September 2026 · A new face for the platform
- VIGIL now reads in Figtree, from the chat and the sidebar to settings, billing and the legal pages, in both desktop apps and on vigilglm.ai.
- Replies are set in Source Serif 4, so the assistant's own words are distinct from the interface around them at a glance, with real bold and italic where a reply needs them.
- Both faces are self-hosted and open-licensed, so nothing about what you read is fetched from a third party.
22 September 2026 · Photo editing, and a change to monthly credits
- Natural lighting and marked local edits are live on Light and Pro. Mark the part of a photo that may change, say what to change, and everything outside your mark comes back from your own file, pixel for pixel. White, colour, blur and cutout backgrounds stay free and stay on our server; natural lighting sends that photo to our editing provider, as the Privacy Policy sets out.
- Monthly credits change from 1 October: the free plan refreshes to 1,000,000 credits a month and Light to 1,500,000. Pro is unchanged at 6,000,000. Credits already in your balance are not taken away. Prices are unchanged at $5 and $19 a month.
- A credit is what a request costs us from the model or image provider, plus 2%. Photo editing is about 12,900 credits an edit, so Pro covers roughly 460 of them a month.
15 September 2026 · Humanizer and engineering skills
- Web chat and the flagship app can now load Humanizer and twelve engineering guides, including code review, security, debugging, accessible UI, testing and performance. Ask for a skill by name and supply your document or code.
- Guides load on demand with their supporting checklists. Long guides are read in pages. Skills add guidance without granting extra tools or permissions; model usage is billed as usual.
15 September 2026 · Code Mode and on-demand guidance
- Chat now discovers connected tools and document guidance when needed, reducing automatically loaded instructions. Existing MCP connections continue to work.
- Connected actions are prepared in chat for your review in Connections. Approve there, then bring the result back into chat. Preparation never sends or changes anything at the connected service.
- VIGIL-Code 0.2.5 can combine local tool calls in confined JavaScript programs. Accept, Accept all this turn, Deny, Stop and Agent/Plan/Ask restrictions still apply.
- Code Mode has execution, memory, output and tool-call limits. Free general chat remains available; paid connected-service access and normal model billing are unchanged.
14 September 2026 · Job Hunter preparation and refreshed identity
- Job Hunter now helps find suitable roles and offers two document actions: tailor a factual résumé, or prepare an email and cover letter. Copy or download, review and submit yourself.
- Application sending, mailbox polling and employer-reply processing are retired. Saved roles and historical drafts remain available; progress is recorded manually.
- Page-specific browser titles, the V/ open-shield favicon and matching social previews now cover the platform. Docs and feature descriptions explain the new Job Hunter workflow.
13 September 2026 · Desktop security and account reliability
- VIGIL 0.2.2 and VIGIL-Code 0.2.1 for Linux, with an updated Electron runtime and refreshed AppImage, Debian and RPM downloads.
- VIGIL-Code now keeps shell approval separate from file-edit approval, stops running commands, and checks symlinked paths before saving files.
- Billing event retries reconcile current subscription access. Account exports include all owned conversations, projects and Job Hunter tasks without silently shortening them.
- Job Hunter reports failed resume saves and keeps application lists tied to the selected project.
13 September 2026 · Trust packaging
- VIGIL GLM, ABN 51 317 709 329, Australia, on Privacy, Terms, the homepage, and status.
- Homepage sells one job at a time. Taglish for 60 days, then Job Hunter, then Taglish again.
- Status at vigilglm.ai/status. Fourteen-day absence pause-billing is in the Terms.
- Settings → Accounts deletes your account after you type your email. Paid billing stops immediately. Tax records stay.
- Legal pages and the homepage agree: prompts go to Z.ai, credits are 500,000 per US dollar of model cost plus two percent, no ads, no data sales, no analytics trackers.
- Job Hunter is Light and Pro. Nothing is sent until you click send.
- Settings → Accounts downloads a JSON copy of your account. Public changelog is at /changelog.
- Three 30-second demos at vigilglm.ai/demos: Taglish, Job Hunter, and memory. Sample data. Scripted replies. Job Hunter clip stops before send.
- Linux x86_64 downloads at vigilglm.ai/downloads. VIGIL is chat.vigilglm.ai in a frameless window (chat title and model in the title bar). VIGIL-Code is the local agent.
12 September 2026 · Light tools and isolated browser
- Paid Light accounts get unlimited messages, search, images, Job Hunter, and the isolated browser.
- Studio stays Pro.
11 September 2026 · VIGIL Flash and Turbo retirement
- VIGIL Flash (GLM-5.3-Flash) is the default chat model, with Low, High, and Max effort.
- GLM-5 Turbo is retired. Stored Turbo selections become Flash.
