Terms of Service
Effective 3 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-07 · VIGIL GLM (vigilglm.ai) · ABN 51 317 709 329 · AustraliaThe short version: this is a small, honestly-run platform. Use it lawfully, pay for what you use, and do not abuse it. Understand that we cannot promise it will never break. The long version follows, and it is the one that counts.
1. What we provide
VIGIL GLM is an AI chat platform run by an individual in Australia trading as VIGIL GLM, ABN 51 317 709 329. It gives you access to large language models, document tools, project workspaces, daily email digests, a public API, a sandboxed script runner (VIGIL Studio), and Job Hunter, a paid job-search tool that finds roles and prepares résumés, emails and cover letters for you to review and submit yourself. You can use it in a browser, in the VIGIL app for Android, and in two Linux apps, VIGIL Desktop and VIGIL-Code. It runs on shared infrastructure maintained by a very small team, which means occasional downtime, bugs, and quirks are a fact of life. We fix things fast, but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, perfect, or suited to any particular purpose, and we may change or discontinue any part of it at any time.
This is a one-person operation. If I cannot keep the service running for fourteen days, I will pause paid billing until it is back. Status is published at vigilglm.ai/status.
1a. The apps
The apps are free to download from vigilglm.ai and need a VIGIL account and an internet connection. These Terms and the Usage Policy apply in the apps as they do on the website. Plans are bought on the website. Nothing is sold inside the apps.
VIGIL-Code edits files and runs commands on your own computer. It acts on the folder you open and the access level you choose, and you are responsible for what you approve. Full Access runs commands with your own account's access to your files and network. Keep backups of work you care about.
We may update or withdraw an app, or stop supporting an old version. An iOS app is planned and has not been released.
2. Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep your password safe. Anything done through your account is on you.
- Accounts are for people, one each. Sharing logins, mass-creating accounts, or selling access is not allowed.
- If an account breaks these Terms or the Usage Policy, we can suspend or close it, with or without warning, at our discretion.
3. Paying for it
Paid plans (Light and Pro) bill monthly through our payment processor. Free accounts get a monthly credit allowance. The limits for each plan are on the pricing page, and we may adjust them with reasonable notice.
A VIGIL credit is 1/500,000 of a US dollar of the provider's metered cost, plus two percent, rounded up to a whole credit. Chat, API, search, images, and most other model work use that meter. Daily digests are capped at 12,000 credits per successful day; if a brief cannot be written or delivered, that day is not charged. Studio is on every plan and charges a separate execution fee shown on the billing page, plus any correction-model usage.
- All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds, credits, or pro-rata refunds: not for partial months, not for unused credits, and not for accounts we close for breaking the rules.
- Cancel any time. You keep your access and remaining credits until the period you already paid for runs out.
- If a payment bounces, we may mark the account past-due and pause paid features until it goes through or the subscription lapses.
- By subscribing you authorise us to charge your payment method each month until you cancel.
4. Chargebacks
If something is wrong with a payment, talk to us first at admin@vigilglm.ai. We would rather fix a genuine billing mistake than fight it at the bank. A chargeback opened without contacting us may be treated as fraud. If we conclude it is fraud, we may close the account, wipe its credit balance, revoke paid access, and ban the account holder. Child-safety bans stay final. Other bans you can contest at the same address.
5. Behaviour
The Usage Policy is part of these Terms, so read it. It sets out what is not allowed, from illegal content to trying to bypass the billing system. You are responsible for what you type and what you do with what the models produce.
5a. Platform usage measurement
We measure how the platform is used (which pages are visited and what device types and browsers are used to access it) through Umami, a cookieless analytics service, so development focuses on what people actually use and the devices they prefer. This runs on the same basis as standard website traffic measurement: it is on by default for visitors and for registered accounts, and it collects page paths, app opens and device information only, never chat content, account details or anything used for advertising. The Privacy Policy has the full detail, including how to switch it off in Settings at any time. By using VIGIL you agree to that measurement as described there.
6. AI output is AI output
Models generate text automatically. Sometimes they are wrong, confidently. Do not treat their output as legal, medical, financial, or safety advice, and do not make high-stakes decisions from it without checking it yourself. We are not liable for what you do with a generated answer.
7. Your content
- Your content stays yours. To run the service we need to store and process it; that is the only licence you grant us, and it exists purely to operate VIGIL for you.
- Only upload things you have the right to use. That includes project files and knowledge documents.
- We can remove or restrict content that breaks the Usage Policy.
8. What belongs to us
The VIGIL GLM platform, its code, design, and branding, belongs to VIGIL GLM, ABN 51 317 709 329. You get model output for your own use; you do not get any rights to our name or marks. Do not scrape the platform, reverse-engineer it, or resell access to it as your own service without written permission.
API keys are for your own use. Keep them private; anything done with your key is done as you, on your balance. If a key leaks, revoke it in Settings the moment you notice.
9. Other people's services
VIGIL leans on third parties: Z.ai provides the GLM models, Tavily and Z.ai provide web search, DeepInfra provides photo editing and spoken replies, Stripe processes payments, MongoDB Atlas stores account data in Sydney, Cloudflare carries traffic and stores files, Proton delivers email, and Kamatera servers in Sydney host the app. They run under their own terms. If they break, that is between us and them, but we cannot be responsible for their availability or actions. Their privacy pages are linked from the Privacy Policy.
10. No warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service comes as-is and as-available. There are no warranties of any kind, express or implied, merchantability, fitness for purpose, none of it. We try hard to keep VIGIL secure and online; we cannot promise either.
11. If something goes wrong
To the maximum extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses: lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, lost business, or punitive damages of any kind arising from the service or being unable to use it. Our total liability for everything, combined, is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or AUD $50, whichever is smaller. If the law where you live grants you rights that cannot be excluded (for example, under Australian Consumer Law), this section does not touch them.
12. Your responsibility to us
If someone comes after us because of your content, your breach of these Terms, or your unlawful use of the platform, you cover our costs, including reasonable legal fees. That is only fair: your actions, your consequences.
13. Ending things
You can walk away whenever you like. Settings → Accounts deletes the account after you type your email; any paid subscription is cancelled immediately. Billing records required by tax law stay. You can also email admin@vigilglm.ai. We can also suspend or close accounts immediately, without notice, for conduct we reasonably believe breaches these Terms or the Usage Policy, breaks the law, or harms the platform or its users. Closed-for-breach accounts get no refund and can forfeit their remaining credits.
14. Changes to these Terms
We will update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the version and date at the top of this page change. Keep using VIGIL after that and you are accepting the new version. It is worth a minute of your time to check back occasionally.
15. The law that applies
These Terms run under the law of South Australia, Australia, and disputes belong in its courts, except where consumer law in your jurisdiction says otherwise, and nothing here excludes rights that Australian law will not let you give away.
